BoostPV© is clean and environmentally friendly. It increases the energy production of the PV installations without adding new PV modules. It is a step towards overcoming one of the main barriers for achieving sustainable energy system – the electricity to be consumed at the time and on the place of its generation.
BoostPV© is not a concentrator. It comprises one or more convex mirrors mounted on the roof ridge with solar or PV panels installed. It irradiates the PV panels additionally and increases their capacity mainly within time periods when the sun is low above the horizon (in the morning after sunrise till 08:00 o’clock, in the evening after 17:00 o’clock till sunset and during all day in winter time).
In winter, even at noon the sun is low on the horizon - in Berlin just 14.1˚, Athens 28.5˚.
The design of the reflector system ensures that it radiates the panels with a reflected direct sunlight when the sun is low above the horizon. While, when the sun rises above the horizon, it does not radiate the panels with a direct sunlight but only with scattered light.
Our tests show production growth of 40% at sun altitude 10˚ and 17% production growth at sun altitude 30˚.
Low price, low installation and maintenance costs – the price and the installation costs of BoostPV© for a 5 kW PV installation will be about €380 (15 times cheaper than active solar trackers).
BoostPV© is passive solar tracking solution without moving parts, so it can be installed on existing and new rooftop PV installations.
BoostPV© doesn’t overheat the PV panels and doesn’t cause aging of the panels!
